This was the time before the automobile, and the saddle horse was the finest mode of transportation available. During the “Grand Era” of the saddle horse, strict standards were established and strived towards to produce the ideal mount. These horses developed into many breeds that are available today. Prices will vary according to age, training, talent, health, show record, conformation, and bloodlines.
Generally speaking, horse prices in any breed or discipline follow this general structure. Leasing any type of horse for short or long term is always a consideration. Various fees and or taxes may also apply.
You may also choose to be a partner in a horse purchase. This allows for a lower investment and shared monthly costs.
Economy Horse: Under $3,500.
Great starter horses without the big investment. Sometimes these horses are unproven prospects, “limited use” horses due to health issues, or mature horses nearing the end of their show career. Some of our weanlings start here.
Pleasure Horse: $3,500. - $10,000.
Quality, sound horses for years of enjoyment. Usually competitive locally or regionally for the show riders. Good broodmare stock starts in this range as well. You will find some very well trained, good looking, horses in this price range for your purposes. Some of our Weanlings, Yearlings, and 2 year olds start here.
Show Horse: $10,000. - $45,000.
Usually horses wearing a double bridle start here. They may be Regionally competitive horse with a proven show record. Great conformation, looks, and attitude. Outstanding young prospects, and breeding stock are also found here.
Nationally Priced: $45,000. - $75,000.
These horses can hold there own ground on just about any show circuit in the nation. Quality breeding stallions also start here.
Kentucky Priced: $75,000. - $200,000.
Exceptional, highly sought after show horses and breeding stock. These horses stand out as the best in any group in North America. Extremely successful show records, or young prospects that take home top futurity titles.
Internationally Priced: $200,000. - +$1,000,000.
Only the best of the best! Extremely sought after show and breeding stock throughout the world. Usually carries multiple World Championship titles.
